ASF (Airport Security Force) was established in shape of a well equipped & mannered force in 1976. Brig. Choudhary Muzaffar Ali Khan Zahid was selected as 1st Commander of ASF who took over his charge in July, 1977. Under his leadership many constructive steps had been taken among those days, one was establishment of PASFWA i.e. Pakistan Airport Security Force Women Association in 1984. First president of this Association was Mrs. Brig. Tariq Rafi. Due to her personal efforts & willingness a new educational institute named "Iqra Academy" was inaugurated on 14th April, 1985 & started its working from the next day comprised on only 36 x students under the principalship of Mr. Ahsan Razi.
Initially the School was uptill Grade 5 but by the passage of time it was upgraded to Secondary Section. After achieving proper registration with Secondary Board of Karachi in 1990, its 1st batch consisted on 9 x students passed out matriculation examination in 1992 under the principalship of Madam Parveen Akhtar.
During the tenure of Brig. Rashid Ali Malik, as Force Commander, the School was renamed as ASF Public School in 1994. Later on with the blessing of the then Force Commanders 2 x new blocks i.e. Iqbal Block & Sir Syed Block, were established and rapidly enhanced the renowned-ness & educational standard of the institute among other near vicinity schools.
At that time on realizing the need of a proper administrator for the institution, Mrs. Habiba Rehman, was elected for the said post in August, 1994. Under her leadership the institute progressed a lot in administrative & educational fields. In 1996 to acknowledge the sincere & devoted efforts of Teachers & Staff a Medal Award Ceremony had arranged. Those who have completed 10 x years tenure, awarded Gold Medals & accordingly Silver Medals on accomplishment of 5 x years of services.
To enhance the same educational setup especially for ASF Personnells in other cities also, the then Force Commander Brig. Naveed Nasar, inaugurated 2 x new branches of ASF Public School in Lahore & Islamabad cities in 2001. During the same tenure Liaquat Block consisted on 16 x class rooms on ground & first floor in Karachi branch was established in April, 2001. Few more projects of this school e.g
e.g. Tiling, Installation of Water Filtration Plant, Computer Laboratory, Inter Communication System, Redesigning of Staff Rooms & Waiting Room and Flooring enhancement in Grassy Lawns were also started during the same tenure of Brig. Naveed Nasar, but the crowns of accomplishment of all these & many more projects were on the heads of Brig. Javed Iqbal Sattar, as DG, ASF & Col. Tanveer – Ul – Hassan, as Dy. D G (Coord) ASF.
In January, 2004 a well equipped Science Laboratory block i.e. Ibn – e – Sina Block, comprised on Physics, Chemistry & Biology Laboratories separately was inaugurated by Lt Gen (R) Hamid Nawaz Khan, Secretary Defense Minister. This establishment certainly enhanced the educational standard & enforced vicinity residents to admit their children in this school. To provide more information resources & a proper place for their extra curricular activities, school library & auditorium were established on the 1st floor of the same block in February, 2005 duly inaugurated by Brig. Javed Iqbal Sattar, DG, ASF.
After the resignation of Madam Habiba Rehman, another talented & well experienced lady namely Mrs. Gazala Shah, took over the charge of principalship in April, 2003. During her tenure the institute secured to gain milestones progress especially through achieving 100% SCC Part-I & II Board results with remarkable Grades.
In 2003 ASF Public School Karachi was registered as ASF Higher Secondary School & its intermediate classes were also started on temporarily basis in 4 x class rooms of the school building. Later on after having separate premises just besides of school, it commenced functioning independently.
One of the best achievement of Principal, Mrs. GHAZALA Shah, was the issuance of school magazine on yearly basis. Its first version was published in May, 2004 & since then the same is being published every year based on various educational topics.
During the tenure of the then DG, ASF Brig. Fiaz Ahmed Satti, and Dy. DG (Coord) Col. Abdul Rauf Khan, many more productive steps were taken to enhance educational standard of ASF Public Schools & College e.g:
Enhancement of Computer Laboratory with Branded 32 x Computers (Pentium-III)
Installation of Internet for developing/ improving knowledge through various web sites.
Commencement of Computer Science Group of Classes IX & X.
renovations of Reception Room, Principal's & Vice Principal Offices.
Establishment of Female Secondary Staff Room.
Floor Tiling of whole assembly area with renovated shaded stage.
Fixing of aluminum-curved stairs for entrance at the back of auditorium.
Formulation of proper & detailed School & College Bylaws & Students Rules.
Restructuring proper pay structures for Teachers/ Staff as per Criteria & Standard.
Improvement of Outer area of School & College premises with plantation & flowerbeds.
Establishment of College classes in a separate premises.
Provision of Computer Laboratory & Canteen in College.
Preliminary working on master plan to upgrade College upto Degree Level.
Construction of main Administration block in Lahore branch.
Establishing Computer Laboratory & Tile Flooring in classes & Officer of Lahore Branch.
Construction of Science block with well equipped laboratories in Islamabad branch.
Renovation of play area with new swings in Islamabad branch.
Foundation of construction of 4 x class rooms & administration block in Islamabad branch.
Construction of Imam Ghazali block comprised on 4 x class rooms Junior Coordinator Office, Store & Security Room in Karachi branch.
All this stage, it would be injustice if we do not describe the role of Secretary Schools & College, A D Syed Ali Haider Sabzwari, who indulged himself personally to get fulfilled all the directives of Higher Command accorded in connection of various tasks. He spent his day & night efforts physically/ mentally to streamline & boost up the works during several construction of Ibn – E – Sina block ( in his first tenure as Secretary Schools) and Imam Ghazali block ( in his second tenure as Secretary Schools & College ). Besides devotion and hardworking of other administrative staff members, it was his efforts that accelerated the working span due to which on time accomplishment of all above mentioned tasks was made possible as Higher Command’s desires.
At present new DG, ASF Brig. Sahir Aslam Butt SI (M) and Dy. DG Col. M. Farooq Khan, have taken over charge and during their tenure much more milestones will be achieved for betterment of Educational Standard of ASF Public Schools & College and also for welfare of Teachers & Staff, Insha Allah
